Sam is a PhD candidate studying the effects of diet and bariatric surgery on intestinal endocrine cells and pancreatic islets. He is interested in how eating different amounts of protein after a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy can impact hormone secretion from the intestine, and how these hormones affect insulin secretion. He is a proud Wisconsin Badger, having completed his BS in Genetics at UW-Madison. He enjoys going on walks with his two dogs and trying new restaurants and food with his fiancé.
